2021 Hyundai Elantra Gas Mileage by Engine

There are three engines available with the 2021 Hyundai Elantra. Take your pick from the following:

  • Traditional Elantra Gas Engine: A 2.0L 4-cylinder engine generates 147 hp while achieving an EPA-estimated 33 mpg city and 43 mpg highway* on the Elantra SE and 31 mpg city and 41 mpg highway* on the Elantra SEL and Elantra Limited trims.
  • Elantra N Line: High-level sport performance is the name of the game with the upcoming Elantra N Line, which runs on a 1.6L turbocharged GDI engine. This powertrain delivers 201 hp and 195 lb-ft of torque via a six-speed manual transmission or a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission with paddle shifters.
  • Elantra Hybrid: Look forward to more than 50 mpg** with the 1.6L inline-4 engine paired with a 32 kW electric motor and an electronically controlled continuously variable oil pump. This setup generates 139 hp and 195 lb-ft of torque.

2021 Hyundai Elantra MPG and Performance Features

The powertrain offerings certainly contribute significantly to the Hyundai Elantra gas mileage, but there are a number of features available that boost Elantra mpg, as well. For example, the Elantra Hybrid comes equipped with a Function-Integrated Electric Booster that enhances brake performance and responsiveness. Meanwhile, an independent multi-link suspension guarantees traction on difficult Cypress roads. Of course, there’s plenty more in store when you get behind the wheel of the Elantra in Spring.
